PortfolioConstruction Forum Markets Summit facilitating debate on the outlook for markets
PortfolioConstruction Forum Markets Summit facilitates debate on the medium-term outlook for the markets, and the portfolio construction implications. This interactive, one-day program in February features a dozen local and international investment professionals - economists, investment strategists and senior market specialists from around the world - discussing the three-year outlook for the global economy, key markets and asset classes as well as the opportunities and risks, and signposts to watch for – and, of course, the implications for portfolios. Markets Summit is a companion program to our Conference. Markets Summit is relevant to all wealth management professionals who have a responsibility to understand the drivers and outlook for investment markets, one of the three pillars of portfolio construction. |

Big Picture
Forum
|
The Markets Summit program follows a similar format to our annual Conference, over one day. It consists of a 7-hour, plenary style Big Picture Forum and a 1-hour Asset Class Forum electives program. The Big Picture Forum features 12 leading investment thinkers from around the world, presenting their view on the current status and one-to-three year outlook for the global economy, key markets and assets classes as well as the opportunities and risks, and signposts to watch for - and, of course, the implications for portfolios. Presenters present preapproved, post grad level, presentations, developed specifically for Markets Summit. Each session includes dedicated Q&A time in which our electronic Gizmo technology enables delegates to send comments and questions to our Inquisitors (investment experts we select for their forthright, analytical thinking) who are on-stage with our CIF Presenters. The one-hour Asset Class Forum electives program offers delegates the choice of five concurrent electives, featuring another five international and local investment professionals presenting their outlook for a specialist asset class. Delegates attend one session at Markets Summit, and afterwards, can "attend" the remaining four afterwards via the online Markets Summit Resources Kit. As with all PortfolioConstruction Forum programs, Markets Summit is not just a talk-fest. Delegates are issued with an Implementation Worksheet so they can record their key takeouts. Plus, the program includes a Key Takeouts session in which our Inquisitors provide their takeouts and actions they think delegates should be considering as a result when building investor portfolios. |

Resources Kit
|
After Markets Summit, delegates’ learning continues via an extensive online Resources Kit – an invaluable set of continuing education material including presentations, podcasts, videos, papers and blog comment opportunity across the Critical Issues Forum and Asset Class Focum. The Resources Kit allows delegates to revisit the jam-packed program, access support material referred to during the program, review the key takeouts and portfolio construction implications, better determine actions they’ll take to build better quality investor portfolios - and share the content and conclusions with business colleagues and clients. |

Markets Summit 2011 - bubble, bubble, toil and trouble? In late 2010, early 2011, you only had to open a newspaper, turn on the TV or surf the internet to find a flood of debate about investment bubbles. There was talk of a gold bubble, an equities bubble, a bond bubble, a commodities bubble, an emerging markets bubble, a China bubble, another tech bubble, a social marketing bubble... Concern about investment bubbles was at an unprecedented level... |

Markets Summit 2010 - are we there yet? Having passed through the GFC fire of a year ago, and survived largely in tact, it was time to confirm the lessons learned and revisit the road(s) to recovery. |
